Wrap: “My Antonio” Antonio Sabato Jr and “Curb’s” Larry Guli!

Reality TV star/Co-Executive Producer, Soap Star, Calvin Klein model and Chef(?) Antonio Sabato Jr. from VH1’s “My Antonio” and Larry Guli of Curb Your Enthusiasm stop by to talk brain teasers, golf, artillery, beautiful women and Italian Meat Sauce!

(*If you want information on Ti West, Director of “The House of the Devil” who is our guest this Tuesday, October 27th at 8PM, check back here by Monday, October 26th.)

In this special edition of Live! From the Future... (if you’re paying attention, we aired on Friday instead of our usual Tuesday) because both our two guests – Antonio Sabato Jr. and Larry Guli - will have big TV moments coming up tonight, Sunday, October 25th.

First up was Larry, who is quite possibly the first former army artillery officer/ace softball player/investment banker/golf pro to make it in the acting world. As if his former professions hadn’t provided enough challenge and stimulation, Larry decided to go into show business after his retirement. So much for taking it easy in the golden years – Larry’s been busy ever since, playing a recurring role on General Hospital and, most recently, appearing as the latest foil to Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry’s episode will appear tonight at 9PM on HBO!

pic6

Actor, Investor, good guy Larry Guli gets uncomfortable when Stu asks him if he wouldn’t mind a casual Greco-Roman wrestling match after the show. The answer was “No!”

Larry’s impressive resume didn’t intimidate Stu, who actually believed he might be able to match wits with MENSA member Larry in a brain teaser contest. We’re too dumb to remember the actual question; regardless, Larry got it correct within seconds while Stu took the better part of several minutes to guess it completely wrong.

pic2The audience figures out the brain teaser minutes, if not hours, before the show’s host

Next up was Antonio, whose big secret will be revealed TONIGHT! -  Sunday night, October 25th at 10PM on VH1. We tried, oh yes we tried, to get him to tell us the winner on “My Antonio” but our guest was too discreet for that (not to mention bound by solid non-disclosure agreements).

pic3Antonio expresses his true feelings about his host in Italian. Luckily, Stu speaks only English and rudimentary Urdu.

Watch Antonio Sabato Jr. speak Italian on www.theStream.tv

In addition to his current reality effort, Antonio is a veteran actor, appearing in General Hospital (are you sensing a pattern here?) and many other TV shows and movies, the latest being the title role in the crime drama Drifter: Henry Lee Lucas for which he won a Best Actor award at the Beverly Hills Film Festival! He told us about these experiences, as well as his formative years in L.A. (his father, also an actor, moved the family to the U.S. when Antonio was a young man).

pic4Jessie Schneiderman is the winner of our “Best Antonio-baiting Costume” award for the evening. John, a distant second, sulks in the corner.

In fact, Antonio didn’t speak any English at all before arriving on these shores. To prove it, he even gave us a few lines in Italian. Did he actually reveal the name of his new sweetheart from My Antonio during this exchange? Probably not, but we like to fantasize that we got the scoop.

pic5Antonio reverts to English; luckily he didn’t throw any brain teasers Stu’s way

We also talked about our guest’s hobbies, which include a passion for racing cars (and doing so on three continents) gymnastics and, most tastily, cooking. Due to LFTF’s lack of kitchen facilities – the microwave and the barrel of Grapevines in the lobby don’t count – we unfortunately couldn’t get Antonio to give us an on-air demonstration, but he did detail his recipe for genuine Italian meat sauce (which is built from capers, carrots, lots of garlic, olive oil, meat and tomato sauce). As the studio audience, Stu, Fulron and Jessie alternated salivating over the recipe and over Antonio himself, we brought the show to a close.

Buon Appetito from all of us, and see you at the dinner table… uh, the next show (which, by the way, will be on our usual Tuesday evening, in this case October 27).

Update: Antonio Sabato Jr. from My Antonio this FRIDAY

The Sunday following our next episode, the hit reality show My Antonio will broadcast its finale. Why are we telling you this? Because we’ve got the show’s namesake star, Antonio Sabato Jr., as our guest and we just have to brag about it. We’ll try all sorts of subterfuge and cajoling to get him to reveal his final choice of mate on the show (NOTE: multi-million dollar bribery from the LFTF Swiss bank account and promises to sign Antonio to the lead role in the upcoming John Fulton biopic have failed to dislodge the secret. Any better suggestions will be gratefully received).

Antonio banner

Whether we find out or not, we’ll sure have a lot of fun trying. Along the way, Stu, returning to the hosting desk after a one-week absence will have the usual hijinks and fun, and will even challenge Antonio to a push-up contest. Uh, good luck on that one, Stu. Also live and loving it will be the Fulron and Jessie Schneiderman, who strenuously (and almost believably) denies trying out for both My Antonio and that new reality show with Lorenzo Lamas and his kids.

Don’t forget, circus fans, our Antonio show is on a special night – FRIDAY (October 23).

Got questions for Mr. Sabato Jr.? – POST ‘EM HERE

Upcoming: Antonio Sabato Jr. from My Antonio next FRIDAY

After a fun show with John Fulton substituting in the host’s chair, we’re gonna get even funner with the return of Stu to said piece of furniture. We have a single guest for our upcoming episode, but what a guest – Antonio Sabato Jr., from VH1’s hot reality show My Antonio.

Antonio banner

In My Antonio, set on the Big Island in Hawaii, the titular actor has to whittle a crop of 14 lovely women down to one single mate. Gosh, some guys have the toughest jobs. The first season of the show is currently airing. In addition to his Hawaiian adventure, Antonio is a veteran actor who has logged many hours in front of the camera. Among his notable roles is Dante Damiano on the durable CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. He previously got soapy for several years as a cast member of General Hospital, later reprising his character in the spinoff series General Hospital: Night Shift. In addition, he has played recurring characters and made guest appearances on many top TV shows, including the original Melrose PlaceNCIS, Charmed and Ally McBeal. His movie resume is similarly crowded, and Antonio has also occupied the producer’s chair on more than one filmic effort. Now if all of the above doesn’t qualify a man to win the heart of a beautiful female on a Hawaiian island, I don’t know what does.

Speaking of beautiful women, Stu… uh, whoops, I don’t think he wants that cross-dressing lounge singer secret to get out quite yet… anyway, Stu will be brandishing a fresh Canadian tan after his working break in the Great White North and will be primed and ready to resume his hosting duties. John Fulton will return to the music director chair while covetously eyeballing the host’s chair, and Jessie Schnooterman, complete with her patented Jewbs, will hold down the IM unit. Needless to say, we’ll also feature the usual menu of gags n’ games and interview fun.

See you online for the festivities, but don’t forget, this one airs on a special night – Friday, to be exact (that’s October 23 for you calendar-heads).

Wrap: John Fulton hosts Zoë Roché and Matt Zane

John Fulton guest hosts! We survive (and even thrive) with guests Zoë Roché and Matt Zane.

PicLeadWatch This Episode on www.theStream.tv!

So the dust has settled, the weapons have been put away, the lawyers have drafted their initial settlement agreements and all in all, John Fulton’s first bout of substitute hosting Live! From the Future… went shockingly well. Nevertheless, the ghostly presence of Stu, steaming with near-psychotic jealousy, attempted to sabotage the effort by invading the studio and breaking the D string on John’s guitar. Our brave host for the evening was undeterred, however, and rolled on with the show with the help of the ever-vivacious Jessie Schneiderpants and our new friend Zach Johnson, who held the co-hosting job for the evening.

PicZoeNow what kind of self-respecting Tamagotchee wouldn’t love a songwriter like Zoë?

After a very convincing series of opening bits – which included a five-point rundown of why he was better qualified to host the show than Stu – John welcomed his first guest, the lovely songstress Zoë Roché. Zoë has been in the musicologist business for a looooong time, and is one of the youngest songwriters ever to get credit for music composition in a feature film. These days, she’s half of the rock/electronica duo Looner with her husband Angel. She visited us at the very end of Looner’s 2009 tour, which covered 31 cities throughout these United States. In her interview, she detailed her love for the band’s tour vehicle, the “SUV-marine”, told us about the inspiration for their song “I Love My Tamagotchee!”, and welcomed Angel to the interview floor for a interrogation question or two from John.

PicMattMatt straps on a meat hook… uh, lav mike … to tell us about music, porn and yoga.

Next up was musician/author/ex-pornographer Matt Zane. John showed a disturbing fascination with Matt’s funky new haircut, but also managed somehow to ask him more legitimate questions. Among these were a set of queries about Matt’s propensity to sing live with his band Society 1 while suspended from meat hooks thrust deep into his back (and we showed the video to prove it). As if that wasn’t interesting enough, we also delved into a discussion of Matt’s recent writing activities, namely his “moral self-help book”, Doctrines of the Infernal Process. For those that like a little yoga to go along with their 21st century Satanism, we also displayed a series of pictures showing Matt bending into painful-looking yoga positions.

PicZachZach, as contemplative and philosophical as John isn’t.

Our interviews concluded, John took the show to the finish line in an awe-inspiring display of his deep inferiority complex rousing rendition of his exit theme song for the night, the disarmingly modest “I Was the Host With the Most”.

PicJohnZoeAngelZoë, John and Angel react to the news that Stu is returning next week, hell bent for revenge.

We’ll leave Stu and John to argue and axe-fight it out over who’s the better host for the show. In the meantime, we’re getting ready for our next guest, reality TV star Antonio Sabato Jr. He’ll be discussing the upcoming finale of his dating reality show My Antonio with Stu, who returns to host in this special LFTF to be broadcast on a different than normal date for us – Friday, specifically October 23.

Upcoming: Crystle Lightning and Lisa Jay of Fox’s TEASE and Derek Miller from Secret Girlfriend.

This Tuesday, October 6th we are hosting a threesome of fabulous guests.  If you thought last week was heating up, with The State of Law losing his pants, we thought we would one up ourselves for our loyal fans (hey Telemundo).  All I know is that Stu called me inquiring about a stripper pole…

Joining us from the new Fox pilot and web series Tease, we have Lisa Jay and Crystle Lea Lightning. This original dramedy gives us an inside look at the exotic dancing profession, with Lisa Jay playing Marie, the newbie to the strip club, learning rapidly from the pros like Crystle Lea Lightning.

October 6, 2009

Crystle Lea Lightning, not to be confused with the 5-calorie drink, is a First Nations actress and model.  For those die hard fans of the 3 Ninjas movie series (i.e. my sister) you know her as “Jo” in the 1995 movie 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up. In 2005, she played “Chloe” in the American Pie presents: Band Camp. Her most notable role is her portrayal of soldier Lori Piestewa in Saving Jessica Lynch.

Lisa Jay has been around from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Everybody Hates Chris. She stars in an upcoming feature film Spring Break ’83, alongside John Goodman and Joey Pantoliano.  When not lighting up the big screen, Lisa participates in humanitarian efforts with the non-profit organization No Kidding, Me Too that works to remove social stigmas related to brain dis-ease.

That is not all folks, we also have Derek Miller from Comedy Central’s Secret Girlfriend premiering Oct. 7th at 10:30pm.   This guy is no stranger to the industry with appearances in Scrubs, Mad TV, and Comedy Central’s Crossballs. Derek was also the creator and star in Fremantle’s hit web series, Every Hipster and Atomic Zoo. You can catch him performing regularly in the critically-acclaimed IO West improvised musical, Opening Night.

The studio is pretty much going to be at maximum capacity once we squeeze in everyone and Stu’s big head.  Don’t miss out.  We promise there is a lil’ sumtin’ sumtin’ for everyone.

If you have any questions for Crystle Lea Lightning, Lisa Jay, or Derek Miller, drop ‘em here!

Wrap: James Francis Ginty and Galadriel Stineman

2x Guests: From Cartoon Network’s Ben 10: Alien Swarm, it’s Galadriel Stineman, and from the upcoming sci-fi thriller Surrogates, say hello to James Francis Ginty!

James Francis Ginty BIG

Watch This Episode on www.theStream.tv!

Tuesday night: You can double the flavor and triple the fun (how’s that math?). First up was the lovely, well-composed and exceptionally athletically/mentally adept actor Galadriel Stineman, starring in the new live action Cartoon Network movie Ben 10: Alien Swarm,  followed by the cantankerous bundle of joy (all said lovingly, James) that is fellow thespian James Francis Ginty, starring in the new Bruce Willis movie Surrogates.

LFTF.Blog.Picture.1Galadriel Stineman’s life-like surrogate tried to sub in for the real Galadriel Stineman on LIVE! From the future…

Alcohol shortages prevent us from also doubling the number of Stu’s on-air companions, but that’s just fine as John Fulton and Jessie Schneiderman continue to be in rare (read: semi-sober) form.

LFTF.Blog.Picture.2Stu unzips his pants live on the air.

We kicked off the show with an Emmy-themed round of that old chat room chestnut, You Supply the Punchline. I’m not saying that the responses we got were unfunny – but punchlines really should be HUMOROUS.

Then, on with Galadriel (Gah-LAY-dree-el), a busy actor soon to appear in both the upcoming Cartoon Network movie Ben 10: Alien Swarm, and the soon-to-be released horror thriller Junkyard Dog. This didn’t stop Stu from subjecting her to Message Board Mayhem, a free-for-all Q&A from the (you guessed it) Message Boards. Galadriel gave it back by participating in LFTF’s public service educational segment, I Learnt It on Da Stream.TV, in which she demonstrated how to draw a cartoon monkey in less than half a minute.

Two of Galadriel’s less obvious talents were exposed in Useless Skills – with Galadriel Stineman, as she recited the alphabet backwards while working a hula hoop. – it was pure uncut entertainment gold!

LFTF.Blog.Picture.3James Francis Ginty from Surrogates looks for an exit route as the interview goes down in a flame of horrors.

Next on the guest docket was James Francis Ginty, fresh from playing one of the main roles in the upcoming Bruce Willis sci-fi mystery Surrogates. James not only held up to Stu’s relentless grilling, he nearly achieved victory in our first quiz: Ballerina or Robot? (Given that he’s actually been both…)

James’s first major-movie role was as a Russian sailor in K19: Widowmaker (improbably starring Harrison Ford), so we decided to play Evil Russian: I Miss You Cold War, which probably takes the grand prize for most convoluted LFTF quiz title. It could probably do well in the most confounding sweepstakes too, since James – as well as the chat room – couldn’t name the movies that featured villainous Reds such as Rosa Klebb (From Russia With Love) and Irina Spalko (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).

LFTF.Blog.Picture.4James Francis Ginty (former Julliard whiz kid), shows us how to do a pirouette – mayhem ensued.

Following that, the chat room prodded James into showing us a cool move from his ballet student days – a pirouette that we counted as his contribution to the Useless Skills with… segment. We capped the night with a lightning round of 60 Seconds, wherein James revealed his porn star name and gave the title of his potential novel (Yo!), which coincidentally is also to be the epitaph on his tombstone.

LFTF.Blog.Picture.5Galadriel nearly collapses after we subject her to an intensive hula hoop routine, while Stu takes a power nap.

With that, we shut the tomb on a lively edition of LFTF. Next week promises to be even livelier, as it’ll be the third anniversary of our show. The booze will be flowing as will the guest list, which features some of the top visitors from the first few years of the show. Join us for the extravaganza and help Stu, Fulron and Jessie celebrate it the right way – by getting drunk and making lewd suggestions on the message boards. Yo!

Get into this show! Click HERE to watch.

LFTF.Blog.Picture.6Galadriel Stineman laughs, but not at Stu’s horrible silent Rocky impression.

Wrap: Kristen Renton from FX’s Sons of Anarchy!

Kristen Renton from Sons of Anarchy gives us everything and more. What a gamer!

1 Kristen

Watch This Episode on www.theStream.tv

After a one-month hiatus spent training hard and popping steroids to build grotesque levels of muscle mass, the wrecking crew that is LIVE! From the Future… stepped back into the ring. Weighing in at 200 pounds, minus the codpiece, was Stu, Jessie Schneiderman – who moonlights as a Scandinavian turntablist DJ Schnooterman – and Tampa Bay’s #2 Oldsmobile saleman, John Fulton.

2 John and Jessie

(America’s second favorite novelty act (behind the Bacon Brothers) is LFTF’s own 9 inches. See them on tour this fall with Sandusky, Ohio’s own “Wildcat”, a band dedicated to a football play.)

Following a brief on-set romance between John and Stu (it didn’t work out… or did it?), we finally got a nice look at Jesse’s new set… her studio set, you pervs. But she does have sweet sweet jewbs; this, we all know.

The several new backdrops, the new Tri-Caster studio… all ideal for hosting a classy guest like actor Kristen Renton from FX’s hit show: Sons of Anarchy. We not only got the skinny on her career and her current project, we grilled her in a series of quizzes. Since she plays a porn actor and has Danish ancestry, we thought it only fitting to start with America’s #1 family fun game, Danish Porn Star or Member of Parliament?

3 Kristen aloneKristen reacts with pure unadulterated joy when learning she will be the one and only contestant on “Danish Porn Star or Member of Parliament?”

For those of you scoring at home, smart Kristen was a perfect six for six, even guessing correctly that the immortal Lars Rasmussen is not, in fact, known for his coitus impressivius. Actually, he’s the country’s Prime Minister.

Next up was a rapid-fire set of chat room questions Kristen had to answer truthfully in the space of sixty seconds. The grilling didn’t stop there – we played Tampa Bay Trivia, all about her beloved sports teams. She stumbled a bit here and there, but honestly, I didn’t even know Tampa Bay was a real place until last year when their baseball squadron apparently made the World Series? Wha???

Kristen did better with LFTF’s famous Ultimate Tomboy Test, passing with a robust score – proving without a doubt – she is a Tomboy. I mean, come on she even admitting to lighting her own farts on fire and peeing outside (not on the same day.) Look at her – who wouldn’t love this girl?

4 Kristen and Stu

“Kristen, I get that you like to pee outside, but did you have to do it on my car as I was getting out of it?”

Nextly, we mined the depths of chat room wisdom to come up with Instant Action Movies. Details aside, we figured out her next vehicle: Firefarter, a woman who can solve crime and save the world with her ability to shoot flaming farts. I think Soderbergh should direct.

As if this finely wrapped bundle of entertainment wasn’t enough, we finished with a round of Come Again? in which ex-soap stars like Kristen have to act and emote their way through a line or two of dialogue.

5 Kristen and Stu part 2Kristen hangs tough through 50 minutes of uncut weirdness, trivia and chatroom come-ons.

Batteries? Octo-mom? Tampa frickin’ Bay? Boy, did this show veer in bizarre directions. Stu and John finally brought it to a close before it could veer any further.

Next week we’ll probably veer even weirdlier with a new guest, Galadriel Stineman from Cartoon Network’s upcoming Ben 10: Alien Storm. Check out the Message Boards for her show HERE. See ya then.

HGTV’s House Hunter’s Host Suzanne Whang

Make sure you’ve got your diapers strapped on next Tuesday, August 4th, because we’ve got a great show in store for y’all!  Suzanne Whang, actor, comedian, author, and host of HGTV’s #1 show, House Hunters, will be here on Live! From the Future in the flesh. Well in the screen for all you viewers at home…

suzanne_whang

According to her humorous bio:

Suzanne Whang is an actor, television host, stand-up comedian, author, public speaker, dessert topping, and floor wax. She has been paying all of her bills in the entertainment industry for the past two decades. Obviously, she started when she was 3 years old.

As an actor, Suzanne has appeared in numerous television series, including a hilarious recurring role as Polly the oversexed spa manager on Las Vegas, a memorable guest starring role as the young Mrs. Lee on Cold Case, and co-starring roles on Two & a Half Men, Boston Legal, Still Standing, Criminal Minds, Nip/Tuck, The Practice, Strong Medicine, Robbery Homicide Division, Norm, and NYPD Blue. She appears in the Keanu Reeves feature film Constantine as a screaming mother whose daughter is possessed by soldier demons. Don’t you hate when that happens?

As a host, she has been the host of House Hunters, the #1 rated show on HGTV (Home & Garden Television Network) for almost ten years, and you can also see her as the host of the hit spinoff show, House Hunters International. She is currently guest hosting on GSN Live on the Game Show Network.  She had a great time as Dick Clark’s co-host on TV’s Censored Bloopers for NBC, while concurrently co-hosting New Attitudes on Lifetime Television.

As a stand-up comedian, Suzanne won the First Annual ANDY KAUFMAN AWARD at the New York Comedy Festival! She was recognized for her Courage, Creativity, Originality and Humor by the festival judges. This award guaranteed her appearance on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend. She also won Best Up & Coming Comedian at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, playing her controversial, shocking, and politically incorrect alter-ego, SUNG HEE PARK. The act is a satire of racism in America, reminiscent of Archie Bunker’s character in the phenomenal sitcom, All In The Family.

She has just written her first book, entitled Suzanne Whang’s Guide to Happy Home Buying, which is currently in bookstores across the country and also available on amazon.com! The book uses Suzanne’s lighthearted style and irreverent sense of humor to deliver great information about the home buying process. She also incorporates the law of attraction from quantum physics into the process of manifesting the home of your dreams!

Suzanne is pitching sitcom and feature film treatments, and her goal is nothing short of global domination. Pretty much the only things she doesn’t do: “MARTIAL ARTS, DRY CLEANING, MANICURES, DOG COOKING, TOURIST SNAPSHOTS, & PROGRAMMING THE VCR”

Now if you aren’t excited for Suzanne you may want to see a doctor. As always post questions for her on the message board and be ready for some crazy comedy on Tuesday August 4th at 8pm PST // 11pm EST!

We’re lots of places, we’re kind of a big deal.

Rooftalk

The First Installment

Rooftalk3In an effort to get some laid back fun interviews with show guests and behind the scenes regulars, we have created a series we’re calling Rooftalk. Rooftalk is still evolving, but we’ve scouted out a great location on the roof of the studio. We stealthily sneak up there after the show on Tuesdays for some great interviews in an awesome setting amongst the city lights.

This first post is rather experimental, but Stuart interviewed me, Lauren “Lighting Bolt” Magistro, about how I got into new media and how my experience producing Live! From the Future was going so far:

Rooftalk would not be possible without Lawrence, the talented filmmaker behind The Indian Maiden, who happily hauls out his lights and camera to capture some cool stuff! Thanks Lawrence!
