HGTV’s House Hunter’s Host Suzanne Whang

Make sure you’ve got your diapers strapped on next Tuesday, August 4th, because we’ve got a great show in store for y’all!  Suzanne Whang, actor, comedian, author, and host of HGTV’s #1 show, House Hunters, will be here on Live! From the Future in the flesh. Well in the screen for all you viewers at home…

According to her humorous bio:

Suzanne Whang is an actor, television host, stand-up comedian, author, public speaker, dessert topping, and floor wax. She has been paying all of her bills in the entertainment industry for the past two decades. Obviously, she started when she was 3 years old.

As an actor, Suzanne has appeared in numerous television series, including a hilarious recurring role as Polly the oversexed spa manager on Las Vegas, a memorable guest starring role as the young Mrs. Lee on Cold Case, and co-starring roles on Two & a Half Men, Boston Legal, Still Standing, Criminal Minds, Nip/Tuck, The Practice, Strong Medicine, Robbery Homicide Division, Norm, and NYPD Blue. She appears in the Keanu Reeves feature film Constantine as a screaming mother whose daughter is possessed by soldier demons. Don’t you hate when that happens?

As a host, she has been the host of House Hunters, the #1 rated show on HGTV (Home & Garden Television Network) for almost ten years, and you can also see her as the host of the hit spinoff show, House Hunters International. She is currently guest hosting on GSN Live on the Game Show Network.  She had a great time as Dick Clark’s co-host on TV’s Censored Bloopers for NBC, while concurrently co-hosting New Attitudes on Lifetime Television.

As a stand-up comedian, Suzanne won the First Annual ANDY KAUFMAN AWARD at the New York Comedy Festival! She was recognized for her Courage, Creativity, Originality and Humor by the festival judges. This award guaranteed her appearance on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend. She also won Best Up & Coming Comedian at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, playing her controversial, shocking, and politically incorrect alter-ego, SUNG HEE PARK. The act is a satire of racism in America, reminiscent of Archie Bunker’s character in the phenomenal sitcom, All In The Family.

She has just written her first book, entitled Suzanne Whang’s Guide to Happy Home Buying, which is currently in bookstores across the country and also available on amazon.com! The book uses Suzanne’s lighthearted style and irreverent sense of humor to deliver great information about the home buying process. She also incorporates the law of attraction from quantum physics into the process of manifesting the home of your dreams!

Suzanne is pitching sitcom and feature film treatments, and her goal is nothing short of global domination. Pretty much the only things she doesn’t do: “MARTIAL ARTS, DRY CLEANING, MANICURES, DOG COOKING, TOURIST SNAPSHOTS, & PROGRAMMING THE VCR”

Now if you aren’t excited for Suzanne you may want to see a doctor. As always post questions for her on the message board and be ready for some crazy comedy on Tuesday August 4th at 8pm PST // 11pm EST!

Conor is the host and executive producer of infoMania, a weekly look into the world of news, popular culture, and politics. The show, developed with Madeleine Smithberg (co-creator, The Daily Show) airs nationally on Current TV every Thursday night at 10pm ET/PT and is viewable online.

Conor Knighton

The first host to appear on Current TV when it launched in August of 2005, Knighton has anchored and produced three different top of the hour news/comedy franchises for the network, now in 50 million homes across the world.

Conor’s commentary has also been featured on  E!, CNN, CNN Headline News, TV Guide, and KNBC Los Angeles.

In March of 2005, Conor wrote the pilot for Google Current, the first television program to use internet search data as a way of reporting on world events.   He would go on to host/write/produce the show for the next two years.  After enjoying success stateside, the unique format was spun off into an UK version, which continues to air on Current in the UK and Ireland.  The original US version morphed into what is now infoMania.

In mid 2006, Conor was asked to develop and host Current Buzz - a collaboration with Yahoo! – that attracted several million unique visitors online during its limited three month run, making it one of the most watched programs on the web.  Conor has also co-hosted the “Take Back TV” concert series (sharing the stage with artists including The Roots, Lauryn Hill, and Mos Def), and has produced international segments for the network’s travel and vanguard journalism divisions.

As an actor, Conor has appeared on shows on the WB and the Discovery Channel networks and in various short films.  He has an extensive background in theater, and has studied improv with the Groundlings in Los Angeles.

Wrap: Ryan Cafeo, Louise Palanker!

From the two-time Webby nominated series Luke 11:17, actor/producer Ryan V Cafeo!

Watch This Episode on www.theStream.tv

Man, it was good to be back – we had 2 guests, 5 free DVD’s, 15 free iPhone apps, played some games, had some music from @johnfulron; it was a veritable salad bar of entertainment. First up, there is some good news in the economy, folks… I found a bunch of real (odd) jobs on the interweb and we played: Name your price! where John, Jessie and Stu had to say how much they would require to do ‘said’ jobs. Shockingly, John’s price for most jobs involved a bag of weed.

(Stuart and iPhone App. developer/author/comedian Louise Palanker reflect on life, ad infinitum.)

Then, it was time for a *new segment* called: Pimp that SHIT!, where someone/thing comes on the show with the sole purpose of plugging their product/service. Louise Palanker came on to promote her iPhone App, which you can download at the App store if you just type in the word: Journals.

Louise taught us how to make our own App, and then we played a game Is it Paap’s App?, where Stu fooled everybody with real/bullshit Apps. There, we’ve said “App” enough to re-new our douchey status. Good for us.

(Ryan V Cafeo, Stu and a mystery photographer (Magistro, is that you?) discuss Luke 11:17, sports and who’s gonna win this staredown. )

Then, it was time for Ryan Cafeo, who was promoting his Rob Zombie and Wes Craven endorsed web series called Luke 11:17. We discussed Luke, the conflicted character he plays on the show, his role as a producer on the series, how he lived in a uHaul truck for a month, and his one time job as an iron worker.

(John and Jessie do their best Sonny and Cher but with date rape jokes instead of “halfbreed” jags.)

Ryan Cafeo on Tuesday, July 21st

E-X-C-I-T-E-D to be back from a two week hiatus!  Next week, Tuesday, July 21st, we’ve got a great show lined up for you. Actor, Ryan Cafeo will be paying us a visit, as will iPhone App Developer, Louise Palanker!

Ryan V. Cafeo plays the title character, Luke Vincent in the wildly popular web series Luke 11:17 which he also co-created. The series is a sexy, dark and edgy psychological thriller that follows the life of Luke, a famous motivational speaker who has his own demons to overcome and a dark side he tries to keep hidden. The series was nominated for a prestigeous  2009 “Webby” award, as well as being an official honoree as Best Drama Series of the year. Ryan will next be seen in the comedy feature Fred and Vinnie opposite Fred Willard.

Studying Advertising/Art Design at VCU, Ryan took his minor in film and dove head first into the world of cinema. Upon graduation Ryan moved to Los Angeles where he went immediately to work, booking an episode of CSI: Miami, a recurring role on the daytime drama Passions and started his own production company, Rooster Films with producer Christopher Sherman.

It was during the crippling writer’s strike that the two were trying to come up with ideas to keep themselves busy that the concept for Luke 11:17 was born. “It started with a cage and just kind of went from there” says Cafeo “But wasn’t originally intended for the web.” With its enormous success and popularity, the two are now shopping the concept around Hollywood and hope to continue the saga on a major cable network where they can bring their full sized vision to life.

Louise Palanker will also be joining us to share her insights about all things iPhone and her latest iPhone App!

If you have questions or comments for Ryan or Louise jot them down on the message board!
